Everyone’s talking about Peppol e-invoicing. No one explains where to actually start.

From January 1st, 2026, Peppol e-invoicing becomes mandatory for all B2B invoices in Belgium. And you’re probably thinking: “Great… now what?” Exactly why we built our no-stress Peppol plan.

What is Peppol exactly?

Peppol stands for Pan-European Public Procurement Online. It’s a secure, standardised network for exchanging electronic business documents—most commonly e-invoices. In simple terms: Instead of emailing PDFs or manually uploading invoices, your system automatically sends invoices via a certified Access Point to your customers.

Here’s how it works in practice: Your ERP system (like SAP) connects to a Peppol Access Point, which acts as your gateway to the network. When you send an invoice, it gets automatically formatted, validated, and delivered to your customer’s system—all without manual intervention.

You know Peppol e-invoicing  deadlines are coming. But where do you actually begin?

Let’s be honest. You’re not the only one struggling with this. It comes up in every monthly review: “How are we doing on the e-invoicing project?” “What exactly is our Peppol strategy?” “Who’s supposed to be leading this?”

Your CFO asks: “Are we on track for 2026 compliance?” And you think: “I need to get clarity on this, fast.”

The real issue? It’s not technically impossible. You just don’t know what to tackle first. Every vendor wants to sell you something. Every consultant has a different approach. What you need is a clear roadmap.

That’s why we created this free email series. No vendor pitch, just practical steps.

A step-by-step plan to Peppol delivered every 2 weeks

We break down your Peppol e-invoicing project into manageable actions. Each email gives you one clear task to move forward—with templates and tools included. We’ve guided companies through this process using SAP and other ERP systems, so we know what actually works in practice. Each email takes 5 minutes to read but gives you weeks of clarity. Yes. From 2026 onwards, all B2B invoices must be sent electronically via the Peppol network. This applies to all Belgian companies, not just government suppliers. The Belgian government has set clear penalties for non-compliance: €1,500 for the first violation, €3,000 for the second, and €5,000 for subsequent violations. Better to start planning now than scramble at the deadline.

Peppol uses a 4-corner model: You send your invoice via an Access Point, which connects to the Peppol network and delivers it securely to your customer’s Access Point. It’s efficient, standardised, and fully traceable.
